Travelling

You and me,
we're nomads of the spirit,
negotiating dreams,
following the songlines
of our ancient timeless land.

You and me,
we shared the wild times,
fingerprints of youthful passion,
landscapes, soundtracks, worlds of words -
sacred sites allusive with a poetry of living.

You and me,
we built bright bridges,
spans of faith, trusting in fidelity
for the rag tag clumsy years, the testing times of
learnings, the errant, odd mistakes.

You and me,
we ponder this bayside evening
as the decades flow away from us,
as time dissolves some mysteries,
but others now are looming as nights reign longer, darker.

You and me,
we can talk about this later,
not tonight with the full moon rising,
a ball of silver lustre in a perfect cloudless sky.
We'll just sit here holding hands.

Nomads of the spirit,
negotiating dreams,
travelling on...
